| 11/20/2009 | Jake Delhomme, QB (Car) | Delhomme was 19 of 42 for 227 yards and one TD and one INT on Thursday in a 24-17 loss to Miami. Analysis: Delhomme had gone three straight games without a touchdown before Thursday. He gets a chance to bounce back against the New York Jets on Nov. 29 - the first of two games at Giants Stadium for him with a trip to face the Giants set for Dec. 27. |
| 11/20/2009 | Steve Smith, WR (Car) | Smith had seven catches for 87 yards and 1 TD Thursday in the Panthers' 24-17 loss to Miami. Analysis: Smith has 11 catches _ three for touchdowns _ in his last three games, as Jake Delhomme has started to look for him more. |
| 11/20/2009 | Jonathan Stewart, RB (Car) | Stewart had 12 carries for 42 yards and Thursday in the Panthers' 24-17 loss to Miami. Analysis: Stewart had two touchdowns five days earlier against Atlanta, but it was a different story against the defending AFC East champion Dolphins. |
| 11/20/2009 | DeAngelo Williams, RB (Car) | Williams had 13 carries for 122 yards Thursday in a 24-17 loss to Miami. Analysis: Williams has topped 100 yards four times in the last six weeks. Fantasy owners must be loving his production, particular his per-carry average. |
| 11/20/2009 | Davone Bess, WR (Mia) | Bess had six catches for 63 yards in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday. Analysis: Bess could be more of a factor in Miami's passing game after this effort. The Dolphins play the Bills next in Buffalo. |
| 11/20/2009 | Chad Henne, QB (Mia) | Henne was 17 of 29 for 172 yards and one TD to RB Ricky Williams in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday. Analysis: Henne has done a good job taking over as the starter for Chad Pennington, but he doesn't have too much fantasy value. |
| 11/20/2009 | Ricky Williams, RB (Mia) | Williams rushed for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 24-17 victory at Carolina on Thursday. Analysis: Williams started in place of an injured Ronnie Brown. The 2002 NFL rushing champion had a receiving and rushing touchdown in the same game for the first time in his career that included a couple of lost seasons. "Coach always talks about finishing," Williams said. "Sometimes in this league, in a physical game, it's difficult to finish. I think in the past we've prided ourselves on finishing games and we did a good job tonight." |
| 11/20/2009 | Joe Berger, G (Mia) | Berger, who replaced Jake Grove at center in Miami's game Thursday, left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. Analysis: Berger tried to go back into the game but was re-injured. Nate Garner replaced him. It's not certain how serious the injuries to Berger and Grove are. |
| 11/20/2009 | Jake Grove, C (Mia) | Grove left the Dolphins' game on Thursday because of an ankle injury. He did not return. Analysis: Backup center Joe Berger also was injured but he would come back only to leave again. Grove is a big presence on the Miami offensive line and his presence was quickly missed after Berger left. Nate Garner moved over from left guard and botched a snap on the second play. |
| 11/19/2009 | Albert Haynesworth, DT (Was) | Redskins coach Jim Zorn says Haynesworth remains a game-time decision for Sunday's contest at Dallas with a sprained left ankle. Analysis: The coach says Haynesworth is "coming along'' and that the ankle's swelling is starting to go down, but his absence would be huge for the Redskins and give Dallas much more room to run. |
| 11/19/2009 | Jack Williams, CB (Det) | The Lions placed Williams on injured reserve on Wednesday due to a knee injury. Analysis: Williams was hurt in his only game for the Lions after playing for Denver |
| 11/19/2009 | Melvin Fowler, C (Det) | The Lions signed Fowler on Wednesday. Analysis: Fowler has started in 60 of 88 career games. He was released by Arizona Cardinals this year after starting 37 games the previous three seasons for Buffalo. |
| 11/19/2009 | Marquand Manuel, S (Det) | The Detroit Lions put Manuel on injured reserve Wednesday because of a shoulder injury. Analysis: Manuel made 35 tackles in nine games this season. |
| 11/18/2009 | Bruce Gradkowski, QB (Oak) | Gradkowski will get the starting nod Sunday against Cincinnati as the Raiders have had enough of former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell - for now. Analysis: This will be just the second start for Gradkowski since 2006. He started one game last year in Cleveland and 11 games as a rookie for Tampa Bay in 2006. Gradkowski is 17 for 30 for 163 yards and two interceptions. It's unlikely that Gradkowski can do worse than Russell did, though there's certainly no reason to own him on your fantasy team. |
| 11/18/2009 | JaMarcus Russell, QB (Oak) | The Oakland Raiders are benching Russell, handing the starting job to Bruce Gradkowski. Analysis: Coach Tom Cable said after practice Wednesday that Gradkowski will get the nod Sunday against Cincinnati. Cable says the plan is for Gradkowski to start the rest of the season. Cable has pulled Russell, the former top overall draft pick, for ineffectiveness in two of the past three games. No Raiders quarterback should be considered as a viable fantasy option at this point. |
| 11/18/2009 | Brady Quinn, QB (Cle) | Quinn has been fined by the NFL for his chop block on Baltimore's Terrell Suggs, who is out for Sunday's game against the Colts. Analysis: After throwing an interception in Monday night's 16-0 loss to the Ravens, Quinn dived at Suggs' knees while trying to bring down cornerback Chris Carr, who had picked him off. Suggs had to leave the game and could miss more time. Quinn said he received a letter from the league on Wednesday but would not disclose the size of his fine, saying only that it was "a good amount." |
| 11/18/2009 | Chris McAlister, CB (NO) | The New Orleans Saints have signed McAlister. Analysis: The 32-year-old former Ravens star has been elected to the Pro Bowl three times in his 10-year career but missed most of last season with a right knee injury and was released by Baltimore last February. Both Saints starting cornerbacks are nursing injuries. Jabari Greer has a groin pull and Tracy Porter a sprained left knee. |
| 11/18/2009 | Billy Cundiff, K (Bal) | The Baltimore Ravens have signed Cundiff, who once enjoyed success with the Dallas Cowboys and was perfect in a brief stint with Cleveland this season. Analysis: The 29-year-old Cundiff replaces an ineffective Steve Hauschka, who was cut Tuesday after missing a field goal and having an extra point blocked in Monday night's 16-0 win over the Browns. Cundiff has made 66 of 89 field-goal attempts. He kicked for the Cowboys from 2002-05 and was 6 for 6 on field goal tries with Cleveland as a replacement for the injured Phil Dawson. |
| 11/18/2009 | Jake Allen, WR (Cle) | The Packers have released Allen. Analysis: Allen spent the entire 2008 season and the first seven weeks of the 2009 season on the Packers' practice squad, and was signed to the team's roster after Brett Swain sustained a season-ending knee injury. |
| 11/18/2009 | Jordan Kent, WR (StL) | The St. Louis Rams have signed Kent to replace Keenan Burton, the receiver lost for the season to a knee injury. Analysis: Kent is 6-foot-4 and spent training camp with Seattle. He was waived on Sept. 5. He was a sixth-round draft pick of the Seahawks in 2007 and split time between the practice squad and active roster. |
